Phra Somdej Phrokbo Yai Wat Khun In

Photo on the left is unwashed while on the left, washed and decorated with silver case.

The photo below is washed to show you the texture and condition.

I particularly like the Phra Somdej Phrokbo Yai because of the immaculate condition and texture. If you were to refer to a good Phra Somdej Wat Rakang collections references. You can spot many similarities with them.

This phim is of ‘taeg lai nga’ or means broken/cracked ivory pattern. And it fulfills what we call 3 ‘Y’s; namely Yark (rough surfaced),  Yaep ( cracks) and Yaek ( cracks within cracks ). This is a good piece where you can tell the difference between man made cracks and natural cracks. Natural cracks are not homogeneous because it doesn’t crack all at the same time.
